Description
Released in the UK in 1957 on the HMV label this is Elvis Presley's 3rd UK album release on HMV; DLP 1159, The Best of Elvis.
The matrix number stamped into the run-off groove is OXAV 289-1N on side 1 and OXAV 290-1N on side 2. Side 1 also has a T stamped at 3 o'clock in relation to the label and a large X to the left of the centre hole and a T to the right of the centre hole. Side 2 has GD at 3 o'clock and no letters left or right of the centre hole.
This issue has lovely plum labels (which grade as Ex+) with clear unblemished nipper logos and unfaded gold text. The vinyl is in Ex- condition and displays a lovely shine on both sides and comes in its original poly lined inner sleeve. The sleeve has a few marks as shown. I will grade it at VG+ but this really belies its condition. I have seen alot worse than this graded at Ex so maybe Ex- is more accurate.
