Description
ELVIS PRESLEY "THE AMERICAN DREAM VOL1" LP. CLAUDIA RECORDS 1978.
- An unusual release in it's day, from "Egypt" seen here with the white labels..
- Cover is heavy stock card, showing some shelf wear & some slight creasing & tiny marks (shown).
- Record has some manufacturing marks common in the vinyl with these type of releases but looks almost unplayed other than those marks & the scratch shown.
Please check out my other listings for more vintage 50's & 60's clothes, household items, records, books etc etc as I'm thinning my lifetime collection out over the next few months. I am always happy to combine postage on multiple purchases. On 01-May-22 at 07:45:11 BST, seller added the following information: I always try to be 100% accurate & honest & henceforth, after seeing this was bid on, I grabbed the record & spotted something I hadn't noticed & mentioned - Where the scratch is that is shown in the pics, there is a tiny outer edge warp, about 1cm wide & goes into the record lead in, by a few mm. I don't remember it being a problem at the start of the record BUT it might be one where it needs lifting into the 1st song by a bar or two. I just wanted to make people aware of this oversight, it's still a cool record & rarely seen but I don't like making mistakes! See last pic please. On 01-May-22 at 08:01:17 BST, seller added the following information: The above oversight was annoying me so I just went & checked the record on my Rega 8 which has a very fussy Audio Technica cartridge - It skipped just a couple of the very outer lead in grooves BUT did not clip any of the song intro, a short while in the scratch becomes slightly audible for a while but if you know the song, you'll know it's not Elvis & it's terrible anyway, not helped by the added acetate type noise. Side 2 I also tried & the lead in on that side is also fine.
