Description
ELVIS PRESLEY – “SPEEDWAY” (LSP-3989), A FIRST PRESSING FROM 1968, STILL IN ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP, INCLUDING THE SCARCE SHRINK STICKER!
RECORD: VG with many light scratches and surface scuffs. Despite this, the record has been test-played in its entirety and it plays quite well, with no skips or repeats. The sound quality on this Indianapolis pressing remains strong, but with some subtle "ticks" in areas. The labels are without any writing or stickers, but do show some spindle marks and fingerprinting. This Original Soundtrack Recording was released in June of 1968 and includes the hit single, “Let Yourself Go / Your Time Hasn't Come Yet, Baby” as well as 5 Bonus Songs! The matrix numbers end with 2S/1S, respectively.
COVER: VG++ (EXC) with approximately 80% of the original shrink wrap remaining. There is a tear in the shrink on the front that extends to the Shrink Sticker. Unfortunately, this has affected the right side of the Shrink Sticker, resulting in a tiny tear along with some wrinkling, mostly toward the upper right corner of the sticker (please see all photos). The shrink wrap has served this cover well in preventing any ring wear from developing. This particular album was previously missing in action after being addressed to a buyer in the United Kingdom. It was accidentally mis-directed to Japan as a result of error on the part of a postal clerk! After at least FIVE round-trips to Japan, it was finally returned to Las Vegas, NV. Surprisingly, the only damage incurred in this whirlwind tour, were a few "bumped" corners. This is a very clean, attractive cover!
BONUS PHOTO: Missing from this album.
INNER SLEEVE: The original “ELVIS’ Great LP Catalog” (40C) sleeve is included. Edge splits are noticed as well as a few small tears along the upper edge.
GOOD LUCK!
I COMBINE SHIPPING! $4 for the first LP, then 25 cents for each additional LP. International Shipping has resumed for select countries. Please do not ask me to check "Gift" instead of "Merchandise" or to declare a low value on the Customs Form! I ship all records in the CORRECT cardboard record mailers, specifically designed for shipping these historic and tough-to-replace treasures to your doorstep in the same condition as when they leave my hands. USPS has been known to find a way to bend these boxes on occasion, hard as that may be to believe, so items valued at $30 or more will be shipped automatically with insurance at no additional cost to the buyer. ALL of my records are U.S. pressings unless otherwise stated. Payment is expected within 5 (Five) days from close of auction via PAY PAL ONLY – NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE. I normally ship within three business days from close of auction, but please allow a little extra time in the event of a holiday. Please do NOT bid if you do not intend to pay! Returns are accepted if you are accepted if you are not completely satisfied with your item. I strongly believe that my grading of records is spot-on, but we’re all human and something may occasionally be missed upon inspection. I will do my best to ensure customer satisfaction. 2018 marked 40 years of experience for me in this wonderful hobby. I specialize in Elvis Presley.
