Description

A great opportunity to buy an ORIGINAL copy of a VINYL LP from the 50's by Elvis Presley called "Rock 'n' Roll No.2".

This is Elvis's second U.K. LP and is on the original H.M.V. plum label with the Nipper logo in colour and with gold print. It has "The Gramophone Co Ltd" printed at the start of the perimeter text.

A mint copy of this rarity has a current book value of £700.

This is a U.K. pressing released in 1957 on the H.M.V. label (CLP 1105 mono). It has a total of 12 tracks:-

Side One:- Rip It Up; Love Me; When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again; Long Tall Sally; First In Line; Paralysed.

Side Two:- So Glad You're Mine; Old Shep; Ready Teddy; Any Place Is Paradise; How's The World Treating You; How Do You Think I Feel.

Visually the vinyl is in a clean condition, but has obviously been played many times. I always grade records under a strong light and it is clear there are many surface marks on the vinyl, though nothing too deep as far as any scratches are concerned.

I have played the record right the way through and it plays without sticking or jumping. There is however surface noise evident throughout both sides and it is a real shame that such a great album is reduced, in the most critical terms, to being only in FAIR condition.

The record is perfectly flat and has no warps of any description.

The matrix numbers are:- G2-WP-7207-2N (side one)  and  G2-WP-7208-1N (side two).

The labels are clean and free from writing or major defects. There is some wear on both sides around the spindle hole.

The record is housed in a plain inner sleeve.

The picture cover is a laminated flip-back sleeve, but only in GOOD condition I'm afraid.  There is noticeable wear at the corners and on part of the spine where the title is (see photo), but there is only minor wear along the other 3 edges. The flipbacks on the rear cover have signs of minor wear and ring-wear is evident when tilted towards the light. Apart from these shortcomings, the cover as a whole is not in too bad a shape considering its age.

These deficiencies should not detract from what is a great example of Elvis's music and I hope this will still appeal to collectors and could fill a gap in any collection.
