A GREAT COLLECTOR'S ITEM!
THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL FOR ELVIS COLLECTORS AND ROCK'N'ROLL. AN ORIGINAL COPY OF SUN 209 'THAT'S ALL RIGHT/ BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY' BY ELVIS PRESLEY. THIS COPY WAS PRESSED IN MEMPHIS AND ISSUED IN JULY 1954, THE FIRST RELEASE BY A NEW SINGER CALLED ELVIS PRESLEY. COPIES OF THIS IN ANY CONDITION ARE HARD TO COME BY LET ALONE A NICE COPY LIKE THIS.
I have put several photos for you to see of this 45. The record has light marks through normal wear over the 50 years but retains a very nice sheen. It is the best looking vinyl on a Sun 209 I have seen (apart from my own top copy)visually around vg by normal gradings. It plays with the Sun 'hiss' and a little background noise, the sound depends on the stylus as these 45s were crudely pressed 50 years ago without the modern stylus in mind! That's All Right Mama plays without any noticeable ticks etc, noticed one single medium tick a little way into Blue Moon. However any Sun 209 45 is really not for playing but simply for owning and displaying. This copy has very little label wear, no writing or stickers, just a blemish at about '20 past' (see pics), the rest of the labels are really nice and this would display very well. The original issue would have been in a plain brown bag, I will supply to the winner an excellent plain brown sleeve AND an excellent old Sun sleeve so you have the choice and can alternate if you wish!
Now for the details: This 45 has the 3 'push' marks of the first 4 Elvis Sun 45s. Trail-offs u-128-45 72 andu-129-45 72 with the 1cm gap between the 45 and 72 as it should be. I've held plenty of Sun 45s and this is absolutely right. You might be able to see the push marks on the pics although the labels have so little wear they are not too clear.
