ELVIS PRESLEY – KING CREOLE (LPM-1884) FIRST PRESSING WITH “BONUS PHOTO”!
RECORD: VG+ with pleasing, glossy surfaces for the grade. RCA Victor's “New Orthophonic High Fidelity” remains resilient upon test play! Of course, there are some very light surface scuffs, but nothing that can be felt with the fingertip. Some minor “ticks” were heard during test-play, but nothing to override the audible enjoyment. The labels on this Rockaway pressing are super clean and highly attractive, showing only a few extremely light spindle marks under a bright light. This Original Soundtrack Recording was released in August of 1958 and includes the hit single, “Hard Headed Woman / Don’t Ask Me Why”. The matrix numbers end with 3S/3S.
COVER: VG+ with a 2-inch upper seam split as well as some bending to the lower right corner. The spine is fully legible, although there is a small tear toward the lower corner. The lower edge and the majority of the upper edge are fully legible and solid. A small amount of wear is seen at the corner tips. Ring wear on the front is very minimal although, the back side does show more of that plus some yellowing from age. Overall, this is a very attractive and presentable cover! The original “RCA Victor” inner sleeve is included.
BONUS PHOTO: VG+ and still retaining the glossy finish! However, there are a few surface scuffs and impressions that do not “tear” into the paper. These do not show until the photo is turned against a light source. There are no real bends or creases to speak of, save for a very minor bend to the upper right corner that is within the white border area. Quite an attractive photo!
