Description
Elvis Presley - He Touched Me b/w Bosom Of Abraham - RCA 74-0651 - RARE 35 rpm version with the picture sleeve, 1972.
This is the very rare, recalled version of "He Touched Me" that was mistakenly pressed at the wrong speed. In other words, when played at the standard 45rpm setting on your turntable it sounds too fast and Elvis sounds like a woman! To correct this, you would need to pitch-correct your turntable speed to approximately 35rpm to match the correct playing speed. It's very odd and very cool. Apparently, in Presleyana VII, it states that a production error caused this to be pressed at appoximately 35 rpm. Compare the "He Touched Me" label identification number of "APKS-1277" to the identification number stamped in the trail-off wax of "AWKS-1277." Another visual indicator of this anomaly is the 4S/4S suffix number you see on both sides of the wax and the "H" stamp indicating a Hollywood pressing. Later, corrected versions of the single apparently have 3S/4S suffix numbers.
The vinyl on this copy for sale appears to have been played and shows wear, scuffs and scratches on the record and label. I will grade this conservatively at G- to ensure your satisfaction. The labels are both Near Mint (G-). I have provided pictures of the labels and the corresponding trail-off stamps for your review.
The Picture Sleeve Is POOR having been cut at some point after the glue separated. Please see photos.
The NM value listed in Presleyana VII for this 45 and picture sleeve is $450.
The music clip shows play at as close to 35 rpm that I could get to. Enjoy.
I will be happy to promptly answer any questions you have, just ask me. Shipping within the U.S. will be $5.
