Description

To begin, let me indicate I am NOT a "disc" expert.  I just an old guy that looks for records, books and other sundry items at garage sales on Saturday mornings.

But what I BELIEVE I have here is an original 1st pressing of Elvis Presley's "G.I. Blues", with the rare "Wooden Heart" sticker.  My conclusion is based on comparison of this album's cover and label with others being offered for sale that claim to be 1st pressings.  However, I do not know how to interpret "matrix numbers", so I will provide the facts regarding the record and let you determine whether or not it is an actual 1st pressing.

First, to the condition of the record and album cover.  The vinyl is in Very Good ++ condition and  retains all of its original shine.  There are a few very light scratches, NONE OF WHICH AFFECT PLAY.  I have "spot listened" to every track and all tracks play very clean.  The ALBUM COVER is in Excellent condition.  The inner sleeve is a beige RCA Victor sleeve and appears to be original to the record.

The "Wooden Heart" sticker appears to be original.  A little odd in its placement on the album cover.  Other examples I have found in my research are located in various places on the album cover...some to the right of Elvis' photo and some to the left of the photo.  I have seen no other stickers that are actually on his body (face).  Perhaps someone's idea of a little joke when sticker was originally being applied?

The numbers in the "dead wax" are as follows:

Side 1: L2  PP-3657-7S; elsewhere in "wax" is an imprint of "B4" (could be "BA" or "D4" or "DA); elsewhere in wax is an imprint of "I".

Side 2: L2  PP-3658-10S; elsewhere in "wax" is an imprint of "B2"; elsewhere in wax is an imprint of "I".

Please perform your own research prior to bidding.  The photos provided are an integral part of the description of the record being offered for sale.  If any record experts out there believe I am incorrect in believing this is a 1st pressing, please let me know.
