The "Passports", one autographed inside by Elsa, the other not autographed, are both in excellent condition.
The autographed photocopies (with original greetings and signatures by Elsa) of the 1963 8 by 10 glossies are in excellent condition.

The highlight of this package are the 4 dedicated autographs by Elsa Cardenas who co-starred in the movie and is a major film star in her native Mexico (see bio below). The package contains photocopies of two 8 by 10 glossies picturing Ms. Cardenas with Elvis, both dedicated to "Deborah and Dan" as well as two "Passports" to Fun in Acapulco, one of which is dedicated to her friend Harry (the other is unsigned). All of this took place at an E.P. (Elvis Presley) Continentals event (read about them below)

15 September 57 marries Texas oilman / independent oil operator Guy Preston Patton in Houston, Texas. He's 39; the press gives her age as 22. About 35 friends and relatives witness the services performed by the Reverend Anton Frank of the Annunciation Catholic Church. She is attended by her sister Olga. Her mother Hortensia is among the guests. It’s the first marriage for each. After a reception at the River Bend Country Club, the couple leaves for a honeymoon in the Bahamas. They will make their home in Houston and in Mexico.
April 58 her husband is sued for $136.72 by the Houston Shamrock-Hilton. “The amount covers hotel bills, unpaid by the oilman, the suit specifies. The Hilton Hotel chain also is seeking $496.65 from Patton for hotel bills run up in Mexico City, the suit says.”
? divorces Patton. Patten will later marry Beatrice Marie Bagwell, and die at age 47 in 1966 in Encino, California.
62 is hired to finish Budd Boetticher’s bullfight movie Ole!, taking over where the former Mrs. Boetticher, Debra Paget, left off. Elsa is rumored to be the next Mrs. Boetticher.
January 63 is reported flying to Hollywood to complete shooting of Vacation in Acapulco. “Earlier exterior shots had been filmed at the resort city.”
February 63 informs columnist Louella Parsons that she won’t date in Hollywood. “I am engaged to Bud Boetticher, and I shall return home to be with him as soon as the picture is completed. In fact my next picture will be for Bud. It’s called Ole!, based on the career of famed bullfighter Carlos Arruza.”
April 63 tells the press that she was disinherited by her wealthy grandfather, who did not approve of acting. A sister who became a lawyer got Elsa’s share. “But it was worth it,” she says. “Look at me now. I’m co-starring in a movie with Elvis Presley. That’s worth a fortune to a lot of girls.”
May 64 the press tells that she and Boettcher called off their marriage plans
6 May 64 graces the opening of the Long Beach office of City National Bank
August 65 appears in promotional short subjects for the upcoming Flight of the Phoenix with Britain’s Sylvia Syms, Germany’s Sonja Ziemann, and Italy’s Pier Angeli





ABOUT THE E.P. CONTINTALS:

Elvis Presley Continentals Fan Club began in 1955, when four ladies, who were Elvis Presley fans got together with the intention of starting a Fan Club for Elvis. It is said that when they mentioned that to Elvis he replied.."I don't need all that fuss". They replied we are going to start you a Fan Club, and asked what to name the club, Elvis replied, "How about Elvis Presley Continentals after one of my favorite cars? Hence we are Elvis Presley Continentals Fan Club. We are the only club he ever named.  Consequently our motto "The Club Elvis Named" was chosen. Our Fan Club relocated to Florida in 1978 to combat the negative publicity that emerged after Elvis died on August 16th, 1977.  These people felt that the public was not remembering that this was a man who gave so much happiness to so many people all over the world through his music, films and his concerts; a man who generously supported many charities as well as gave to individuals in need or just to make someone happy.

Our club has contributed to many charities over the years but our main beneficiary is the Russell Home, Orlando, Florida.  The Russell Home, a home for atypical children, is non-profit, existing primarily on donations from individuals and organizations such as ours.  We feel that supporting a charity close to home base is important to those of us who do most of the work involved in managing the club.  Elvis contributed to many charities in his hometown and Elvis Presley Continentals Fan Club,  follows his lead.  We also make donations to The Memphis Memorial Dinner Charity, The Elvis Presley Trauma Center and Presley Place. Since 2008 Our Club has gone to our Charity to have a party in their home for "The kids" to enjoy !!

We do lots of events over the course of a year. Our main event each year is our annual Elvis Presley Continentals Festival. This is held in Kissimmee in March. The festival, which is open to the public, gives everyone the opportunity to purchase Elvis memorabilia as well as the chance to meet those closest to Elvis. We also have a dinner Show for Elvis Fans to enjoy a Great "Elvis" evening.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, the members of the Elvis Presley Continentals Fan Club, strive to keep the memory of Elvis alive and in good repair.  We will try to conduct ourselves and the club in a way that Elvis would approve.  It is HIS memory we preserve and we promise to do so with the dignity he so richly deserves.  Elvis Presley was and always will be the most influential person in the world of popular music.  The world must never forget him!
