Description
This is one of Rarest Elvis Records.
It's the RCA Victor White Promo of Blue Christmas/Wooden Heart. With Picture sleeve. Why is it so rare? Because when Radio Stations got the record, they played it to death, which means they also beat it to death as far as condition. You will never see a cleaner Promo copy. This one has never been played. It was personally given to me by Jay Johnson, the co-writer (with Bill Hayes), who I used to work with at a radio station in CT. In his later years, Jay was the News Director there, and every Christmas he would come into the studio and play Blue Christmas on his accordion, and tell the story of how he came to write the song while taking the train to NYC where he worked in radio.
Wooden Heart is on the B side. He only gave me the record not the PS. I later found a copy of the PS and matched it up with the record. Please see the pics attached. The PS is very clean. No marks, writing or stickers on the PS or the record. Very negligible ringwear on the sleeve.
