Description
This is an ORIGINAL EARLY PRESS 1959 U.S. RCA VICTOR LP titled 'A Date With Elvis' from Elvis Presley. It is RCA Victor U.S. catalog number LPM-2011, gatefold cover with original hype sticker, a 1960 calendar printed on the back cover, and a small hole factory punched into the top edge of the front gatefold allowing the owner of the LP to hang and display the unfolded cover on the wall. Record is a deep groove early pressing with the 'LONG 33-1/3 PLAY' inscription at the bottom of the labels. Record comes packaged inside the cover in an original RCA Victor Records stock inner sleeve.
This record was one of two compilations of earlier material issued by RCA Victor to bridge the period during 1958 and 1959 when Elvis was serving in the U.S. Army. Material on the LP was taken from Elvis' first Sun Records recordings and movie soundtracks, and marked the first appearance of any of these tracks on LP.

Condition of record is better than is usually seen with this LP - Condition of record is a real nice EX with all original gloss and just a very few very small and light visible surface marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play. Condition of cover is a low VG+ with a 3" split in the right hand edge of the front gatefold which I have been carefully and neatly repaired by taping from the inside, a fair amount of wear along that same edge, some general ring and contact wear, and some other general wear along the edges and on the corners. This LP would be a nice addition to any Elvis Presley or 1950s rock-n-roll record collection! Media mail postage within the U.S. is $4.00.
