ELVIS PRESLEY – A DATE WITH ELVIS (LSP-2011) STEREO PRESSING with RARE “FLAT LABEL” VARIETY from 1968!
RECORD: VG+ on the upper end of the grade with beautiful glossy surfaces! There are just some extremely light, scattered scuffs present which should not have much, if any, effect on the audible performance. This Indianapolis pressing should play great from beginning to end! This is the RARE “Flat Label” variety that the Indianapolis pressing plant was in the process of adopting for their later Orange Label issues. It is my own personal belief that these late issue, Black Label, “Dog On Top” pressings with this particular label variety, may possibly have been experimental pressings. These labels are gorgeous, showing only some minor wear. The matrix numbers end with 3S/3S.
COVER: VG++ (EXC) with no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes. There is only minimal wear on the edges and corner tips and ring wear is extremely light. This cover was produced in 1968 as it has the red sticker applied to the upper right corner on the front which states, “Stereo Effect Reprocessed from Monophonic”. I have deduced that these stickers were applied in 1968-69 since all rigid vinyl, orange label copies “Elvis’ Christmas Album” (LSP-1951) have this sticker on their cover. The original 1968-70 “ELVIS’ Great LP Catalog” (40D) is included.

All records are shipped in the correct cardboard folding mailers with the record separated from the cover, then inserted together within a clear polyvinyl sleeve, then sandwiched between two sheets of cardboard filler pads within the mailer to ensure optimum protection.
