This is a hard to find in decent condition first press/laminated UK HMV release with the flipback sleeve. It is Elvis’ first UK LP. The matrices are machine stamped 2XAV-255-IN and 2XAV-256-IN. Condition wise- the cover is in fine shape (see scan) The photos form part of the description. The lamination is still largely intact however some of the letters on the spine are gone (see scan). There is very small tear at the top of the mouth (about ¼ inch) and at the bottom (about ½ inch) Maybe it’s a strong VG+. The vinyl is visually around VG+ also. There are some scuffing, microlines, blemishes and a few short hairlines . But it plays very well with no obstrusive snap crackle and pop and no major loss of sound quality Any sound faults are very minor, acceptable and nothing to be concerned about- Maybe it plays at around EX+. The labels are EX+. It’s definitely a ‘keeper’ rather than a ‘filler’ because it still looks more than acceptable and sounds superb. A classic heavyweight giant that introduced rock’n’roll to Britain and we all know where that went.
CONDITION WISE:
MINT: Sealed. Unplayed.
MINT MINUS (NM) : Few signs of being played, no deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in superb condition.
EXCELLENT: Some signs of having been played, eg. superficial minor marks such as feathers. Possible minor deterioration of sound quality. Cover, label, extras are in fine condition.
VERY GOOD: Played quite a few times. Perhaps feel-able marks. Some deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras show moderate amount of wear and tear.
VERY GOOD - (Minus) : Further deterioration in sound quality. Considerable wear and tear to cover and it's contents but record should play without skipping, repeats etc.
GOOD: Just playable. Considerable sound problems. Heavy scratches. Needle may jump. Cover has serious problems eg defaced, staining,missing pieces etc.
