Description
- Elvis Costello released his debut album "My Aim Is True" in 1977 on Stiff Records in the U.K. and Columbia Records in the U.S. It was recorded at Pathway Studios in London and produced by Nick Lowe on a shoestring budget. The backing musicians, who are not credited on the cover due to contractual issues, were from the San Francisco band Clover which included future Doobie Brothers guitarist John McFee.
- This Promo copy of (JC 35037) is from the First Pressing in the U.S. with the original yellow back cover and is in excellent condition. The cover shows only minor wear and is easily VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered at Customatrix by George "Porky" Peckham and was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. The Side One dead wax is stamped P AL 35037-1D and etched A8 S1.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.
- Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 44 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
