This is the rare UK 1st press of ‘Captain Fantastic’ by Elton John. This earliest press is complete with the very earliest and true 1st A1/B1 matrix, with Arun hand engraved in the run-out on both sides. The vinyl is translucent red when held to the light and the label has the wide rim around the outside. The vinyl is complete with 2 booklets and the 1st press haevy paper poster. The vinyl has the original inner sleeve and Shorewood Packaging gatefold sleeve.
The record is in Excellent condition. The vinyl is superb, extremely glossy, with just one or two wispy light marks. The label is bold and clean with vivid colours, bright text and just a little spindle wear.
The poster and 2 booklets are in Near Mint condition.
The record sits completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound quality is Excellent. The vinyl plays through exceptionally clear and bright. Very rich, bold sound from start to finish.
The 1st Shorewood Packaging gatefold sleeve is in Near Mint condition. The image is superb, the colours are vivid and it is sharp and completely unworn. The edges are extremely firm, the only tiniest detail is the very slightest wear to the opening edge, but this is insignificant this sleeve is sensational.
