SECOND ALBUM from this, at the time, young prodigious talent. A conceptual affair, the contents are brilliantly written and executed with Elton pushing the boundaries of contemporary singer-songwriter excellence. Backed by progressive rock band Hookfoot, the content is deliciously expansive with tracks such as 'Burn Down The Mission' marking a high point in his career. This album is also notable for a song contributed by British female singer/songwriter Leslie Duncan 'Love Song' - one of the few outside compositions to grace his early works.
As you know, the first edition of this album was issued in a textured gatefold cover with a 12 page lyric booklet stapled into the centre of the gate fold. Later copies were drastically changed when Elton's career began to take off commercially in an effort to save on manufacturing costs. This is an original - copy with a totally MINT cover - so hard to find.

Vinyl: Beautiful clean and shiny condition with no spindle marks. Pressed on blood red vinyl - just hold it up to a naked bulb and you'll be amazed! Audio is beautiful by the way. Grades as a very nice nice archive MINT-!
Cover: No visible signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed fully textured gatefold cover with 12 page booklet. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff and totally uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 53 years. Grades as top near archive MINT-!
