Matrix : DJLPH 423 A3 / B3 - TRANSLUCENT RED VINYL
This is a UK Original press of ‘Honky Chateau’ by Elton John. This early press is complete with the A3/B3 matrix, with Rays hand engraved in the run-out. The vinyl is translucent red when held to the light, consistent with the earliest presses. The vinyl is complete with the original inner sleeve and Garrod & Lofthouse envelope style textured sleeve.
The record is in Excellent condition. The vinyl is extremely glossy, with the original deep clear grooves. Every track still looks superb with only a couple of the faintest marks. The label is bold and completely clean with solid black and sharp silver text. The vinyl is complete with the original inner sleeve.
The record sits completely flat on the turntable and when played the sound quality is rich and vibrant. There are a couple of moments of slight hiss but there is still Excellent audio separation and it plays clear from start to finish.
The 1st press envelope style sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. The sleeve is extremely solid and the envelope edge is in RARE solid, unworn condition. The front image has a couple of tiny marks otherwise the sleeve is very bright and clear. There is the slightest corner wear but the edges are still very solid. The inside is superb and the spine is firm with clear text. 625 (GS 6.9.7 (625))
