FIFTH ALBUM from this, at the time, young prodigeous talent. The contents are brilliantly written and executed with Elton pushing the boundaries of contemporary singer-songwriter excellence. Backed by progressive rockers (Nigel Olsson, Davey Johnston and Dee Murray), the content is deliciously expansive with tracks such as 'I Think I'm Going To Kill Myself', 'Rocket Man' and 'Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters' marking a high point in his career.

As you know, the first edition of this album was issued in a textured gatefold wallet style flip back cover. As you know, most copies of this album are always found trashed because of the delicate wallet style cover - this one is immaculate. This is an original copy with a totally MINT cover - so hard to find.

Issued on blood red vinyl - hold it up to the light and you'll see.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Nice Clean condition - actually blood red vinyl when held up to a bright light. Displays spindle marks and a few non audible scuff marks, mainly from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Grades as an extremely nice Ex+

Cover: No visible signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed fully textured gatefold cover with embossed photo on front and flip back wallet style covers with an unworn/unbent closing tab. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff and totally uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 43 years. Grades as shop fresh MINT!
