Direct Disk Labs Super Disk

2 x LP

DBX Encoded

Half-Speed Mastered

Condition: NM+ / NM+

About This Pressing

This is one of the most coveted audiophile pressings of one of rock's greatest double albums. Released by Direct Disk Labs as part of their prestigious Super Disk series, this 2-LP set was cut at half-speed directly from the original analog master tapes, a process that allows the cutting lathe to capture far more high-frequency detail and low-level information than a standard real-time cut.

What you're getting here is the DBX-encoded version, featuring a red DBX sticker on the front cover and DBX logos on the labels. The DBX noise reduction system dramatically expands the dynamic range of the vinyl medium, resulting in a pressing with extraordinary dynamic headroom and an ultra-low noise floor — when played through the proper hardware.

Catalog #: SD2-16614 Label: Direct Disk Labs / MCA Records Format: 2x LP, Gatefold Speed: 33 RPM Pressing:USA Year: 1980 Encoding: DBX Type II (decoder required) Mastering: Half-Speed from Original Analog Master

⚠️ DBX DECODER REQUIRED This disc is DBX-encoded (Type II). A dbx disc decoder is required for correct playback. Without it, the audio will sound dynamically compressed. If you own a dbx 22 or similar decoder unit, this pressing will reward you with stunning, extended dynamic range sound.

Grading (Goldmine Standard)

  • Vinyl (Both LPs): NM+ — No visible marks, hairlines, or scuffs under direct light. Plays silently.
  • Jacket: NM+ — Sharp corners, no ring wear, no splits, no writing. Vivid, vibrant artwork.
  • DBX Sticker: Fully intact on front cover
  • Inner Sleeves: Present and in excellent condition

📦 Shipping & Returns Policy

Professional Packaging

Your record will be shipped in a dedicated, heavy-duty cardboard LP mailer with extra cardboard stiffeners to prevent bending or crushing. To prevent seam splits during transit, the vinyl will be removed from the jacket (housed in its inner sleeve) and placed behind the jacket within a 4mil clear poly outer sleeve.

Fast & Tracked Shipping

I ship within 1–2 business days of receiving cleared payment. A tracking number will be provided immediately upon shipment. I am happy to combine shipping — please wait for a revised invoice before paying to receive the discounted rate.

Returns & Satisfaction — The "Collector's Guarantee"

I use strict Goldmine Grading standards. If you feel the record does not match the description or grading, please contact me directly before leaving feedback. I am a collector first and I value your satisfaction.

✅ 30-Day Returns: I accept returns within 30 days. The item must be returned in the exact same condition it was received.

🚨 CONDITION POLICY: For opened records, returns are accepted if the item is returned in the same condition as sent. Any new scratches, sleeve scuffs, or damage to the jacket incurred while in the buyer's possession will void the full refund.

📬 Shipping Costs: Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless there was a significant error in the listing.
