Another from my personal collection! Purchased from new and stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the sleeve and cover! This is how I have always stored my records! These are virtually impossible to ever find in this remarkable condition after 35 years! Also this is a very (very) early 1st UK pressing with the original master pressers signature hand etched both sides!!Absolutely stunning \ pefect audio on my systems as good as it gets in my opinion!! I can't remember having played this album before, Try to find another 1st issue like this! Genuine 35 years old!

Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player is the sixth studio album by British singer/songwriter Elton John!!.

This was Elton's second straight #1 album in America and yielded his first #1 single there - "Crocodile Rock." According to writer Philip Norman, Elton's friend Groucho Marx jokingly pointed his index fingers at Elton John during a get together in California as if holding a pair of six-shooters. Elton John put up his hands and said, "Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player," so naming the album. Along with "Crocodile Rock" Don't Shoot Me... contained more songs with a pop flavour, including "Elderberry Wine" (the b-side of the "Crocodile Rock" single), "I'm Gonna Be a Teenage Idol", and "Teacher, I Need You." Many long-time fans however, lamented this change, wishing he had stayed true to his original roots of simple piano ballads which were the staple on most of his earlier albums.! The album contained two top-ten U.S. pop singles, "Daniel" and "Crocodile Rock", with the latter reaching number one.

The vinyl

This is the original heavier and thicker type of vinyl (only early press) later press are much more flimsier and less robust.

This vinyl looks as new! I can barely see a blemish and this looks unplayed!!! Only in strong light can possibly any whyspy sleeve removal marks be seen! Beleive me this is a real rarety! to find a 35 year old 1st press Elton John record that plays like this one so rare to ever find!

The Audio.

This was played on a top system at very loud volume prior to listing  I must say that this is truely awesome, plays like new! This played with almost cd. quality at times on my system! Absolutely cristal clear and vibrant with (no) distortion at all! (no) clicks or pops and (no) background or surface noise what so ever! I would class myself as highly critical please look at my completed listing of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! The best that I have heard of this pressing!

Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 25 years! A build up of dirt and dust over the years causes static ticks\crackle. A constant clean is recomended before each play. From my personal experiance this reduces static crackle and enhances the audio qaulity!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have described the audio quality as honest and as I heard it. Although i never heard any problems other than prevoiously described, Please allow for the odd light static crackle\ticks here and there (not) consistant through out the audio! Please remember that this is a genuine 33 year old vinyl that would have originally have been played on a 33 year old system!

The labels

(see photos) These are like new! There are (no) visable signs that this has ever been played at all in my opinion! (see photos below)

The Record Sleeve

This is the original plain white 'Made in Great Britain' patented sleeve as new! The vinyl has been seperated from the sleeve! Please note! An anti static liner was put in when I purchased this album 35 years ago, to protect the vinyl from the paper sleeve!

The Cover

This is the original 1st press LAMINATED FRONT UK GARROD & LOFTHOUSE'' gatefold cover! in unbeleivablecondition! NEVER EVER SEEN LIKE THIS! so hard to keep in good condition. this has amaiingly (no) ringware at all on the front, and you really have to look for ringware at the rear (very light)! Hardly any storageware worth to mention on the front or rear! (no) real creases to the front or rear worth to mention, just light laminate creases only at the edges bottom and spine ege very very slight.This is strong and very straight must be at least excellent plus!

The Booklet

This is firmly attached and as new condsition (no) marks or ware Please note! This has the original textured pages (only original issues) very rare like this after 35 years!!!
