Description

  • Elton John released his eighth studio album "Caribou" in June 1974. It contains two legendary hit singles in "The Bitch Is Back" and "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me," both of which became permanent parts of Elton's concert set. It was mostly recorded at Jim Guercio's Caribou Ranch in Colorado and special guests include the Tower Of Power horn section, Dusty Springfield, and Beach Boys Carl Wilson and Bruce Johnston.

  • This copy (MCA-2116) is from the first pressing and is in exceptional condition. The cover and original inner lyrics sleeve are easily VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. This record was mastered by Darrell Johnson at Decca Studios in Los Angeles and was pressed at the MCA Records plant in Pinckneyville, Illinois. The dead wax on Side 1 is etched with MCA 500 W4 and stamped ◈-P-◈ II.

  • In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.  It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 46 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
