Our current 45 auctions come from the estate of an East Tennessee man who became a pioneering DJ in the New York City area in the late 1960s. Around 1970, he initiated a MAJOR summertime dance scene at a Fire Island club/restaurant called The Sandpiper -- spinning obscure high-energy soul records for all the NYC celebrities, fashion designers, hip kids, etc. He was also a DJ at legendary Manhattan spots like The 10th Floor, Sanctuary, Continental Baths, Le Jardin and Hurrah's. We'll be listing a ton of amazing records from this collection over the next few months, so stay tuned!
