Description

This is an absolutely gorgeous copy of the rare true first 1956 pressing of Ella Fitzgerald's second "Songbook" album, this time she Sings the Rodgers and Hart Songbook, on Verve orange label double album (includes vol. 1 & 2, later issued separately) MGV-4002-2. This copy is the best copy of the original mono I have ever seen. All four sides play nearly perfect lot flawlessly, and sound better than any subsequent rerelease. Wow. There is a surface scuff along the whole of side 3, but it does not at all make even the slightest sound. Completely on the surface. This record plays just beautifully. The cover, as well, is in the best condition I have ever seen of this early a copy. No seam splits, no ringwear, no dogears. There is a touch of light wear, but only a touch. The lamination is peeling just a tiny bit at the open edge, and a little at the spine, but really barely noticeably. A truly stunning, top, top copy.
