The record you are viewing is part of a collection acquired through a successful auction bid. The product purchased is from a deceased record store owner whose doors closed circa 1970, having made a run of it during the 60's. An incredibly large volume of LPs remained, many in new (sealed) or pristine condition and properly stored. These will comprise the bulk of offerings I will be posting on eBay. With a vast and well preserved inventory, it will take time to sift through and uncover the many hidden gems that await. My goal is to present these finds to eBay buyers in a timely and systematic manner. I am aware finds of this nature are indeed rare, but the fact is, the records I will be listing have sat undisturbed for over 40 years waiting to be rediscovered, shared and enjoyed. I hope you will find some items you've been wanting and can be part of, what I feel, is an historical find. All items kept in smoke-free, pet-free environment.
Verve deep groove MONO vinyl LP MG V-4003 - released 1956.
EX deep groove vinyl has newish shine and gloss. May have been unplayed prior. Clean labels. Play test once on NAD C555 turntable revealed exceptionally clear and luminous analogue sound, with only occasional light background. A quality pressing. For a record this old I was really impressed with the sound quality as well as the material and performances. This is a classic LP and the original mono version is how it was intended to be heard. VG+ cover has edge discoloration consistent with age. The upper right corner has a 1/2" split (see photo). The Phil Stern cover photo also a classic.
