This record is in excellent+ condition. It has a few(5 or 6) spindle marks visible on both the labels but there are no pen marks, scuffs or any other damage such as stains or fading. The centres are not loose or worn and show only very light wear to side 2. Overall the ridged HMV labels are clean, bright and in great condition with no major issues and just a few spindle marks as mentioned.
As for the vinyl itself, both sides are really clean, have a stunning lustre and have nothing remotely serious showing. There is nothing obviously evident in normal light but when you angle it into direct light you can see a few really light faint lines and the minor faint mark. These are all incredibly light and faint and for its age it is in superb condition. These few and very faint lines do show with a few more thin light wispy lines, under bright light but there is not a lot evident and nothing at all deep or serious. So overall this vintage record is used but is in really nice condition, has a beautiful lustre and shows only mild signs of use to its playing surfaces.
I play tested the record and it played really well with superb audio of great quality and excellent clarity throughout. It lays completely flat on the deck and upon playing there is no movement in the record arm. The sound produced was a privilege to listen to. It is crisp and clear and of course has no skips, sticks or annoying ticks. There was also only minimal amounts of surface noise audible with only a trace in the run in/out on both sides. The audio itself is defined and of high quality. I grade on a good quality system fitted with a quality SME 3009 arm/Ortofon stylus and this revealed no problems and little to no interference. It really was a special listen this one, and for its age it plays remarkably well.
The sleeve is in very good+ condition. It has some minor spots of wear and rubbing to the edges and corners but the writing along the spine is still all clearly legible. There is no splits anywhere and the sleeve as a whole is still strong. There are no tears, scuffs or pen marks and no serious creasing. There is however a couple of areas of laminate peeling on the rear. The first and much larger area is found near the left edge(see pics), while the second and much smaller area is in the top right corner. The laminate is still present in these areas but is flapping about. It could possibly be stuck down carefully if desired but I am not going to attempt or risk this. Other than the light wear to the edges and laminate peeling to the rear there is also slight ring marks showing on each side and some mild areas of grubbiness on the rear. Overall the sleeve is strong and appears tidy however and in my opinion a grade of VG+ is fair and accurate. Please study the pictures provided to gain as much information as possible on its condition.
It includes its original white poly-lined 'Brit Pat. Applied for' inner which is in very good+ condition. This has no splits, tears or pen marks but has some slight creasing, ring marks and age related grubbiness inside(as I am sure you can imagine for its age). I will therefore send the record in a brand new plain white replacement to ensure the record remains clean and fresh.
The record will be packaged in cardboard stiffeners and bubble wrapped thoroughly when dispatched. It will also be sent in a brand new protective plastic sleeve, and within 24hrs of receiving payment to try to ensure a swift delivery.
