The band's only two hits are on here, the title cut, "I Had Too Much To Dream" and "Get Me To The World On Time". Just about every other track rules, like the psychedelic blow-out "Sold To The Highest Bidder", "Luvin'", and the suggestive (for back then anyway) "Try Me On For Size". Most highly recommended.

The Electric Prunes ‎– Underground 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP - The Electrc Prunes. What a great name for a band! "I had too much too dream last night" was a psychedelic masterpiece- short, crazy and unexpectable. It was a big hit and was taken from their debut album which was O.K. You could easily here the potential in great tunes such as "Bangles", but overall the album was not perfect.

The Electric Prunes ‎– Mass In F Minor 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION PRESSED AT RHINO RECORDS

- That this album was even finished was a miracle. Recorded while the band was undergoing one of their periodic personnal changes, MASS IN F MINOR captures a minor band at the last desperate moments of their 15 minutes of fame. In fact, two distinct bands played on this album. While guitarist Mark Tulin, vocalist James Lowe and drummer Quint performed on all cuts, it was the first three tracks, (Kyrie Eleison, Gloria, and Credo) that featured the Electric Prunes of "I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)" fame while the remaining 3 tracks (Sanctus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei) were mainly recorded by a Canadian band named The Collectors. The difference is obvious to anyone who listens. The former featured ear-splintering solos by guitarist Ken Williams on all three cuts and were generally some of the finest acid rock ever recorded. The latter was more keyboard based, utilizing electric piano and some primative synthesizer. Which is not to say it was wimpy by any means. One could say the Kyrie-Gloria-Credo triumverate represented the feedback-drenched style of psychedelia which was rapidly losing favor (which may explain why this album was not available in the US for almost 3 decades) while the Sanctus-Benedictus-Agnus triad represented the newer "progressive" arm of psychedelia (kinda like Yes and Moody Blues before they took themselves seriously). No serious study of 60's psychedelic music is complete without this album. Highly recommended

Originally released in 1968, this bizarre concept album bridges the gap between Gregorian religious music and psychedelic rock, with all songs sung entirely in Latin. The opening track, "Kyrie Eleison," was famously used to accompany the acid trip scene in Easy Rider.

In the winter of 1967, a psychedelic-garage-punk band from Woodland Hills, California arrived in Europe for what would be their first and last tour of the continent. On the strength of their hit single "I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night," the band was welcomed with open arms by European rock fans as well as British rock royalty — they smoked out with Hendrix, partied with Brian Jones and Keith Moon, and hung out in the studio with the Beatles — but were also subjected to harassment and ridicule over the fact that their homeland was at war in Vietnam.

On the last stop of the tour someone pushed the record button and this artifact is the result. Stockholm '67 finds the Electric Prunes at the height of the powers. Over-amplified and fuzzed to the max, the 'Prunes here are explosive, noisy, and wild. This recording proves that the Electric Prunes deserve to be ranked alongside the very best bands of their era.
