Description
"EL SONIDO MODERNO THE MODERN SOUND OF BOBBY PAUNETO"
Mardi Gras Records LP 5030, released in 1968
Original pressing, not a reissue.
Holy grail of Latin jazz LPs; called one of the three best Latin jazz albums ever made.
Vinyl is strong VG+, only a little crackle at the start of each side before the first track begins, no noise between tracks. Light inaudible marks, no spindle marks. Sounds great.
Sleeve is VG, some ring and shelf wear. There's a half inch split at the top and bottom of the opening, and a little paper loss at the corners. As with other copies of this album the front slick has bubbling, once just below his eyes and across the bridge of his nose, once just below his collar on his right side. The back has a "DJ COPY NOT FOR SALE" stamp, some light wear, and a little peeling (see photos). Pretty minor stuff, especially for such a rare LP.
The labels are a little more orange than the photos; my camera (phone) can't seem to register the color correctly.
This album almost never comes up for sale; a rare opportunity for the serious collector.
Oh, and it's "Paunetto", not "Pauneto". Between the sleeve and label, somehow the record company managed to misspell his last name 11 times!
Thanks for looking & good luck!
