Extremely rare and sought after Jimi Hendrix produced 1969 UK 1st press 12" LP, on the highly collectable BUDDAH RECORDS label, STEREO, 203021

The overall condition of the both sides of the vinyl borders on excellent. In normal daylight the vinyl comes across as virtually unmarked, exuding a lovely glossy and jet black laquered sheen still, and it is only with close scrutiny under a bright light that a few wispy hairlines and sporadic very light paper scuffs come into view, though there are x3 slightly more prominent 2-3cm line scuffs (x2 on side 1 and x1 at the very beginning of side 2) : all of these minor glitches are non-obvious, non-feelable, and appear to be purely superficial and surface only - certainly the excellent stereo audio quality supports this view. Not quite excellent so has to be an excellent minus (EX-) overall.

The condition of each label is truly EXCELLENT (EX), at least. The black textured background, silver text, and iconic "BUDDAH RECORDS" silver logo remain fully intact and perfectly defined and if it wasn't for just four small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label I would grade the condition of the labels as near mint, so "excellent" is certainly the very minimum grading.

The iconic both sides laminated outer sleeve is a solid EXCELLENT MINUS (EX-). All of the edges and corners are firm and perfectly defined, and the opening edges are similarly rigid with no fraying or feathering; all of the colours and beautiful art work have retained their rich vibrancy and brilliant definition, and the spine remains in near perfect condition with all spine text fully intact. There are a few 1-2cm very light laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the edges and on the front side a thin vertical strip of laminate lifting adjacent to the spine, along with the occasional very light and surface only laminate crease mostly towards the opening edge. The reverse side is similar with some small and occasional 1-2cm surface laminate creases adjacent to the edges. I stress that these are all very minor blemishes and take little away from the highly presentable, 100% functional, and overall impressive condition of this 52 year old antiquity!

The audio quality is truly excellent (EX). No skips, repeats, pops, obvious clicks, or jumps, simply great stereo audio reproduction with great tone and clarity throughout even at higher volume and frequency. Background crackle/interference is at an absolute minimum - just the hint of some very minor and very background crackle during a couple of the intermissions and the intro to the final track on side 2, along with x2 very light background clicks - close inspection identified no obvious cause so I can only assume a couple of specks of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage. What an underrated LP this is with some great tracks including some impressive guitar wizardry (what else would you expect on an LP produced by Jimi Hendrix?!).

Comes complete with excellent condition plain white poly-lined inner sleeve with  "PATENT Nos.." and "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" texts, no splits or tears, barely any creasing, just the hint of a little age discolouration and of course remaining fully functional. 

A very nice and highly presentable condition copy of this rare and increasingly sought after prog/psych rock gem - a welcome addition to any serious vinyl collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself  to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :

Mint  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair  The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor  The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad  The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
