Condition : cover shows some creasing near the upper right corner on the front and a bit of minor wear on the back, EX+ / vinyl has some slightest discoloration on the label. A few minor signs affect listening with some slight clicks, EX+

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : Egisto Macchi è stato uno dei migliori compositori Italiani di musiche da film e di sperimentazione, in particolare con il gruppo d'Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, oltre a instancabile ricercatore sia nel campo della musica classica che in quello dell'elettronica. Sfortunatamente è stato in parte sottovalutato, non riuscendo a cogliere quell’ampia popolarità che avrebbe meritato anche se probabilmente a lui ben poco importava. Questa colonna sonora esemplifica al meglio le sue grandi capacità musicali. I temi sono di natura sinfonica interpretati dall'eccellente Orchestra di Torino e ciascuno di essi ha peculiarità sonore che lo contraddistinguono dagli altri. In “Titoli” (a1) c’è un prolungato suono cupo di sintetizzatore nel quale s’intromette la sezione d’archi, “Tema dei Compagni N. 1” (a3) viene eseguito dal suono vivace dell'armonica con richiami alla celebre “Bella Ciao” benchè sotto l'aspetto strettamente cronologico non era in relazione esatta con la vita di Gramsci essendo morto nel 1937 e il canto partigiano è di qualche anno dopo. “Riflessioni” (a5) caratterizzato da un assolo di organo dalle sonorità tenebrose. “Tema di Giulia (I vers.)” con un bel pianoforte e le vibranti corde dei violini che successivamente danno vita ad una dirompente intensità sonora. Infine “Tema di Gramsci” (b2) caratterizzato da suoni lunghi e lentissimi con il coinvolgimento dell'armonica che mitiga parzialmente una triste atmosfera.

I titoli dei sedici brani possono esser letti guardando il retrocopertina raffigurato nella scansione n° 2.

Notes : Egisto Macchi was one of the best Italian composers of soundtrack and experimental music, especially with the group of Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, as well as an unceasing researcher both in the field of classical music and electronic one. Unfortunately he was partly underestimated, failing to collect that broad deserved popularity although probably he did not care. This soundtrack exemplifies in the best possible way his great musical skill. The symphonic themes are performed by the excellent Orchestra di Torino and each has peculiarities that distinguish it from the others. In "Titoli" (a1) we hear a prolonged gloomy sound by the synthesizer in which intrudes the string section, "Tema dei Compagni N. 1" (a3) is played by the harmonica at lively sound  with some mentions to famous "Bella Ciao" though under a strict chronological appearance was not in exact relationship with the life of Gramsci died in 1937 while the partisan song is born a few years later. "Reflections" (a5) characterized by an organ solo from the sombre sonorities. "Tema di Giulia (I vers.)" with a nice piano and the vibrating strings of the violins which later give life to a shattering sound intensity. Finally "Tema di Gramsci" (b2) characterized by long and very slow sonorities with the involvement of the harmonica that partially mitigates a sad atmosphere.
