EDWARD'S ALL STARS - DR. NO / ROY PANTON - YOU DON'T KNOW ME - RIO R 33 (1964) CONDITION IS REALLY NICE - EXCELLENT, SMALL WRITING ON ONE SIDE ONLY Ska hadn't quite accelerated to it's peak in 1964 - that would come at the start of 1965 - so this one is still a little safe, a little laid back, like the majority of records from that era are. Nothing wrong with that, it's a fine track with Baba Brooks at the fore and The Skatalites as brilliant as ever. It's also quite a long track, over 3 minutes worth of Bond-related entertainment. But I think just this once I might prefer the B side, Roy Panton's track You Don't Know Me which normally I would describe as 'throwaway' but I was actually singing it to myself several hours after I first played it so it must have something!
