Issued in the USA by Educational Audio Visual Inc.. A box of items, published in the USA in 1975, this is an educational package consisting of:
* 2 LP 12” LP Records
* 9 Film Strips (‘Pop Music in the 1970s’ not in a container)
* One Reel of 5” Tape.
* 3 Instruction Booklets to accompany the lesson. (1) How a Recording is Made and two copies of ‘The Conductor’ – teacher’s notes.
This seems to be a rare teaching aid on music, covering classical and pop music. The two LPs are recordings of Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ (LP No.MAS 4084) and ‘The Conductor’ Part 1&2 (LP No. LE 7863) – narrated by Oscar Buhler.
The Film Strips have various titles – Hansel & Gretel Parts 1&2 / 1812 Overture / Pictures at an Exibition, Nutcracker Suite, Pastoral Symphony and Pop Music Parts 1&2. These last two include stills of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, The Who, David Bowie,Joan Baez and more. Maybe some rare photos.
Anthony Morss conducts the Norwalk (Conn.) Symphony Orchestra and explains his role.
‘How a Recording is Made’ explains the history and modern-day process of recording music.
