Purchased from new and originally only ever played to record to tape, and then stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the cover and sleeve for protection!,, this is how I have always stored my records!! Impossibly rare to ever find like this, very collectable and highly sought after being in stunning top condition throughout, not only that , but this is one of the earliest possible prressing features no EMI on the labels and ''A-1 B-1 Matrix endings pressed from the earliest or 1st master look at the mother stampers ''1'' ''G'' on side 1 and ''1'' ''G'' on side 2. The vinyl is awesome only ever played by me no more than three or four times ever and looks and sounds almost as good as new in my opinion! This together with the awesome tip top condition of the original 1st issue laminated front gatefold makes this 41 year old album very highly collectable indeed!!!
The Edgar Broughton Band, founded in 1968 in Warwick, England, is an English, psychadelic, progressive rock group!!.
The band started their career as a blues group under the name of The Edgar Broughton Blues Band, playing to a dedicated but limited following in the region around their hometown of Warwick. However, when the band began to lean towards the emerging psychedelic movement, dropping the 'Blues' from their name as well as their music, Victor Unitt left!!.
In 1968, the Broughtons moved to Notting Hill Gate, London, seeking a recording contract and a wider audience, and were picked up by Blackhill Enterprises. Blackhill landed them their first record deal, on EMI's progressive rock label Harvest Records, in December 1968. Their first single was "Evil"/"Death of an Electric Citizen", released in June 1969, which was also the first single released by Harvest!!.
The first single was followed by the Broughtons' first album, Wasa Wasa, and after a series of free concerts, many performed on the back of trucks and in the face of police harassment, the Broughtons entered into an attempt to capture their ferocious live sound on record by organising a performance at Abbey Road on 9 December 1969. Only one track was released at the time: a rendition of "Out, Demons Out!", an adaptation of The Fugs' song "Exorcising The Demons Out Of The Pentagon", which had become the band's set-closer and anthem. The rest of the recording was lost until its rediscovery and release in a remixed form in 2004 as Keep Them Freaks a Rollin': Live at Abbey Road 1969!!
Wasa Wasa is the debut album by progressive rock band, Edgar Broughton Band. The album was originally released as "Harvest SHVL 757" in July 1969 and was produced by Peter Jenner (No EMI logo) was featured on the labels only on the first issues later pressings feature EMI!. The 2004 CD reissue contained 5 previousy unreleased bonus tracks, 4 of them being demos recorded by the band when they were a blues outfit called "The Edgar Broughton Blues Band". These tracks feature guitarist Victor Unitt, who left the band when they started to go into progressive rock, stating the members of the band to be "sell-outs". The last bonus track being a jamming session which was recorded on 21 January 1969, which was discovered when remastering the album!!.

The vinyl
This is the original heavier thicker type of vinyl only found on early pressings!! These have deeper grooves and are more robust than later pressings!!!!
The vinyls playing surface looks near pristine and ON INITIAL INSPECTION i CAN'T SEE A BLEMISH! VISUALLY IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT THIS VINYL HAS BARELY EVER BEEN PLAYED! Any marks that could possibly be seen under a strong light would be sleeve removal marks only!!!
The Audio Quality
I have played this vinyl through track for track one time on a top system prior to listing! The audio is awesome!,, cristal clear and vibrant with (no) signs of distortion or that this has been overplayed at all!!! TOP AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES! (no) loud clicks or pops during the audio and certainly no skips or jumps at all!! I would grade the audio as good as it gets in my opinion! , original earliest possible pressing 41 years old like this!!!
Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd light static (not) conssistant theroughout the audio! Remember this is an original 41 year old vinyl that would have been originaly played on a 41 year old system!!!
this has been stored in a case for the best part of 40 years and could benefit from a constant clean before each play! From my experiance this would reduce any static and greatly improve the audio quality!
TOP! TOP! AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES!!!!
The Labels
These feature the Harvest labels Without the EMI (only 1st press) with ''The Gramophone co...'' rim text (only early press) in absolutely superbe condition there are just very, very minimal signs of spidering that can be seen under a strong light amaizingly barely two or three can barely be seen) but little if no spindle ware (the hole is perfectly round) It is obvious that this vinyl has only been played a handful of times ever by me!
The record sleeve
This is the white POLY LINED SLEEVE WITH PATENT NO. and 'MADE IN ENGLAND' has no splits or tares becoming fragile with age with light staining\fading. This is stored seperately from the vinyl and cover! The way that i have always stored my records!!!
The cover!
This is the original and much more desirable LAMINATED FRONT ''E.DAY & CO printed LAMINATED FRONT gatefold cover (UK COVER) ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO EVER FIND IN GOOD CONDITION LIKE THIS ONE! There are (no) splits or tares at all, this is super glossy in appearence!! and amaizingly NO REAL CREASES creases worth to mention!. (very rare to find like this) Lovely, strong, straight and clean in general! Superbe spine all text is legible! This cover is so very hard to ever find a better copy after 41 years!! THIS COVER IN MY OPINION WILL BE VERY HARD TO SURPASS!!!! ALL IN ALL THIS IS SRONG AND STRAIGHT AS IT SHOULD BE A GREAT EXAMPLE!!! ORIGINAL!!! Graded at least excellent plus in my opinion!
