Although it's not actually the best Eagles record, "Hotel California" is one of the guys from California's most popular records. This is of course due to the outstanding title song, but also to the other two biggest hits "New Kid In Town" and "Life In The Fast Line". It was also the first recording without Bernie Leadon, who has now been replaced by Joe Walsh. With that, the sound changed from country flair to more poppy arrangements. The fans accepted this change, "Hotel California" was at the top of all important international charts and is still one of the most important LPs of this band. Das liegt natïürlich an dem alles überragenden Titelsong, aber auch an den beiden anderen grössten Hits "New Kid In Town" und "Life In The Fast Line". Es war auch die erste Einspielung ohne Bernie Leadon, der nun fortan durch Joe Walsh ersetzt wurde. Damit wandelte sich der Sound auch weg vom Countryflair hin zu poppigeren Arrangements. Die Fans nahmen diese Veränderung an, "Hotel California" war in allen wichtigen internationalen Charts ganz oben und zählt bis heute zu den wichtigsten LPs dieser Band.
