Description

E.C. Ball's music was a "consummate example of the calmness, peace and beauty which give so much strength to a great deal of traditional music." - from liner notes to Rounder 0072. This American singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist hailed from Rugby, Grayson County, Virginia. He "performed with his wife Orna and their Friendly Gospel Singers in churches and on the radio".- Wikipedia. John A. Lomax recorded E. C. on behalf of the Library of Congress in 1937 and Alan Lomax, his son recorded him in 1941 and again in 1959. The first three LPs he recorded are what are being auctioned here. The 1967 County album and the two Rounder albums from 1972 and 1976. All vinyl in these albums  are in flawless near mint condition. The jacket of the first Rounder album is also virtually flawless while the County and second Rounder  album jackets have minor edge wear spots or corner creasing.
