Description

It's really years ago I found a decent copy of this megarare Dutch obscurity from the late 60s early 70s. When discovered this caused a big stir. As only 300 copies were made back in the days only seldomly one turns up. This album was recorded in a monastery in the Southern part of the Netherlands. Sleeve was designed by a monk. This sounds cheapo, dirty underground. Besides some jazzy trash and odd stuff it has the two only know recordings by band called Group Cruise to Calvary. Both are outstanding. Also has the only know recording by the Frootman Field. Outstanding dutch freakbeat. The Runaways from Leiden had a obscure 45 but that doesn't even come near the fab tune on this record 'Listen to the birds' with a giant eastern fuzz psych break and a real mesmerizing tune. The D-5 Group are the Driftin 5 from Rotterdam they deliver a rather hippie folk version of 'Dylan's 'Girl from the North country'. LISTEN!!!
