DOWNLINERS SECT - 'THE SECT'
Classic British R&B on this outstanding 1964 1st UK pressing of their debut album on the blue & black Columbia label: 33SX 1658
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text with the 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 1 label.

Housed within a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed cover, complete with original rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

A very fine set bearing just two or three spindle trails around each completely unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Extremely clean playing surfaces which retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shine. I would have graded the album as 'EX+' if it were not for the presence of a 5mm 'feelable' scratch on track 2 on side 2. Apart from that, the only other visual traces of wear are some harmless wispy hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal. Both sides of this barely played copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
This great sounding copy has clearly been barely played and my careful play-check found no evidence of any groove/playwear whatsoever. In fact, the only audible distraction is click for 5 rotations on 'Cops And Robbers' which occur as a result of the aforementioned scratch. However, despite that minor blemish, this is one of the best sounding copies you will hear.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A fine example of this easily worn cover must be amongst the best there is.
The front panel is clean & white, retaining an unscratched high-gloss laminate with just a hint of storage, but totally free from any 'thumbnails' or any other signs of wear. There are tiny bruises to the right corners but both opening edges are sharp and unworn.
The rear panel is pristine white and completely unmarked with all flipbacks in-place and unworn.
Both seams are smooth & unstressed and the spine is clean and perfectly worded.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Clean & crisp with slight age toning but really as this fragile component gets.
