Description
Prestige Bluesville 1065, “Softee Man Blues” with Doug Quattlebaum, vocals and guitar, from 1963. Original deep-groove vinyl plays at NM with virtually no background sound. The jacket is like new in the original shrink wrap; it shows no visible flaws of any kind with no seamwear, corner wear, ringwear, bends, writing, or stamps; the jacket back is very clean with perhaps a touch of age toning. Songs are “Sweet Little Woman”, “Whiskey-Headed Woman”, “Trouble in Mind”, “You Is One Black Rat”, “On My Way to School”, “You Ain’t No Good”, “Come Back Blues”, “Mama Don’t Allow Me to Stay Out All Night Long”, “Big Leg Woman”, “Love My Baby”, “Black Night Is Falling”, “Baby Take a Chance with Me”, “So Sweet”, and “Worried Mind Blues”. Doug Quattlebaum of Philadelphia recorded this one blues LP, singing his heart out with amplified guitar while selling frozen custard from a truck. One of the best releases in the series. This is one of a set of original Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this week on eBay. Most are original DG copies in remarkable condition, and many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
