Description
Up for auction is an original Blue Note: BLP 4019, Donald Byrd's "Byrd in Hand." This is the 63rd st address, deep groove, RVG stamped, "ear" etched in dead wax, former radio-DJ copy of this album. Often only one side of these records has been played.
Sleeve: EX- overall with the only major issue being a section of black electrical tape along the back spine (can be seen in first photo) that blends in nicely; back is NM- with a line of writing in blue ink that states an acquisition date of "January 28, 1960."
Record itself is EX+ overall, with a NM side 1, and a EX- side 2 that has two superficial needle trails.
I have more highly collectible items pending me finding the time to take pictures and load them onto eBay. Please be patient and do not contact me via message to inquire about pending items or whether you can buy them "privately."
I am a university professor of music here in the US who inherited this and other records (Blue Note, Norgran, Impulse!, Columbia, Prestige, Fantasy, Riverside, etc.) from a collector and former radio DJ a few years back. I am looking to sell off some of these records to collectors/audiophiles who can get more enjoyment out of them than I can.
Thanks for looking.
