Don McLean American Pie LP UK 1st Press LAMINATED {SUPER AUDIO} [Ex+/Ex-]

Description

An original 1st press of PIE on UK UA from 1971. Matrix A1/B1. The vinyl comes housed in an original laminated thick card cover printed by Upton. MUCH better quality than later flimsy print jobs. We also have the original generic white inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In marvellous condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Super difficult to find this title playing properly clean. Having PIE on the LP is always going to lead to heavy playback. But I'm pleased to report this copy bucks the trend and remains lovely and clean in PIE and into those very lowkey acoustic tracks. A beaut for sure - and much more difficult than you might imagine. Clean as a whistle. At worst just a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side and one isolated click.
Cover (Ex-) Wow, it's definitely worth getting the proper 1st issue with laminated cover. Look at how the colours have been preserved. Lovely clean and flat front with just a touch of laminate lift in the extreme bottom right corner. The rear looks much better than you typically find - just some very slight surface wear toward opening. Very little edge wear and sharp firm openings. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
