AMERICAN PIE has been referred to as a cultural touchstone, where Don McLean drew inspiration for the song from his childhood experience delivering newspapers during the time of the plane crash that killed early rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper. ### The Vinyl Record is described as Excellent+++ in condition. There are a few extremely fine hairlines & sleeve marks on each side of the record, none of which are feelable. Plays with average background. Several spindle marks on both labels. The Cover is described as Excellent & is structurally sound with no seam splits. Light ring wear & scuffs on the surfaces. A few fine cracks along spine. Light general wear with a little paper loss to the corners/edges. The Inner Sleeve is clean, intact & in Excellent condition.
