Description
Blue Note 4003, mono, deep groove with 47 West 63rd St. address on both labels; 43 West 61st address on the bottom of the back cover. Record has “ear” and “RVG” inscribed in the dead wax. 6 tracks include Hank Mobley, tenor sax; Wynton Kelly, piano; Paul Chambers, bass; Art Taylor, drums. This is an extremely rare original edition of this fine hard bop record. Cover: VG+ to mint(-). Some wear on the bottom insert corner. Small crease on 1 corner. Very little edge wear. Minor aging on the back cover. Fine bright colors on front covers. Close to mint(-) than VG+. Fine overall condition. Record: VG+. Visually shows no wear. There is 1 small surface rub mark. There are some discoloration marks in the vinyl. These appear to be made during the manufacturing process. Side 1 has some groove noise on the 1st track and at intervals on the remaining 2 tracks. Side 2 has no surface noise except for an exceptional, infrequent, light click. Barely audible. I can not account for the difference in surface sound between the 2 sides. Neither side appears to have had much play if any. Heavy vinyl pressing. Audibly checked.
