Original UK Bronze label stereo press LP.

'A Story Ended' was recorded at The Manor in March April 1972 and released in July. It was recorded in the aftermath of the split up of Colosseum in October the previous year. Although he had been a major force in British Jazz since the early Sixties, Heckstall-Smith was usually in a supporting role. The songs on his first solo album have their origins in his work with Colosseum, but also mark the start of his new Jazz Rock Fusion phase during the 1970's and 1980's.

This is the original first press with the Bronze/Island labels, the lyric inner and the early A-1U B-1U matrices, with the 1-O 1-R mother stampers.

  The Tinsley Robor Group fully laminated gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with only light corner/edge wear and a little laminate rubbing on the outer cover. The spine is intact & fully readable, the lyric inner is intact, with one corner creased & in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and needle scuffs, with some light bag scuffing on side 2. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud and clear listen.  

The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9196, A-1U stamper 1-O, B-1U stamper 1-R. This is one of the early pressings of the original UK stereo issue of this iconic 1972 album!
