Description
Available here is an collectible, rare 45 - "Misirlou / Eight Till Midnight", by the legendary Dick Dale and the Del-Tones. First pressing, released in 1963 on Deltone Records (4939).
Dick Dale (May 4, 1937 – March 16, 2019), was an American rock guitarist, a pioneer of surf music, drawing on Middle Eastern music scales and experimenting with reverb. Dale was known as "The King of the Surf Guitar". The single available here, "Misirlou", is one of his more well-known songs and illustrates his style perfectly.
The vinyl on this 45 shows hairlines and a little bit of scuffing on each side, nothing egregious. Plenty of gloss. It has been play tested and has no skips, no overpowering noise, no warping. Both labels are complete, with a little ring wear and a prior owner's initials written on one label. The 45 comes in a Licorice Pizza (remember that record store?) paper sleeve, with a plastic center, which is in great shape. The record has been stored in a smoke-free home.
