Record: Dexter Gordon - A Swingin' Affair
Label/Cat#: Blue Note / BLP-4133
Pressing info: The 1st, original 1962 NEW YORK USA MONO pressing. This edition does have the VAN GELDER stamp, and EAR/"P" in the dead wax.
GRADING (VG++): Most likely one of the nicest copies you'll ever see. The vinyl is extremely clean. There's only a few traces of surface wear when viewed under an extremely bright light. On side 2 you will see a few surface scuffs which are noticeable. These do not impact play at all. They actually are present during a quiet ballad and the track plays about as silent as I've heard. One of the best you'll ever find of this amazing record.
- Vinyl (play-graded): Incredible sounding copy from start to finish. Big, clear sound.
- Side A: Faint surface noise in the beaded rim dead wax and in between tracks. Light surface noise can be heard at times, but for the most part the vinyl is dead quiet.
- Side B: Light crackle between Tracks 1 and 2. Track 2 (ballad) plays almost dead quiet. Track 3 is essentially the same - very quiet, clear playback.
- Jacket: VG+ Please see pictures for details. Reach out with any questions. It's a wonderful jacket. Light shelf wear. Some wear to corners which is pictured. No splits at all. There is an instance of writing in the upper right hand corner which was from a reviewer. I imagine this was played once and put back in the inner sleeve for 60+ years until I was lucky enough to purchase it.
- Insert/Inner: Original inner sleeve included, along with an archival-quality inner sleeve.
SHIPPING:
Record ships outside the jacket to prevent seam splits. Packed in a sturdy Mighty Mailer with padding.
