Description
As Wikipedia puts it accurately enough: Devo is an American post-punk band that formed in 1973, consisting of members from Kent and Akron, Ohio. Their classic lineup consisted of two sets of brothers, the Mothersbaughs and the Casales, along with Alan Myers. The band had a No. 14 Billboard chart hit in 1980 with the single "Whip It" and has maintained a cult following throughout its existence. This is an excellent example of the influential 1979 LP, 'Duty Now For The Future' on the Virgin label, V2125. It comes with three excellent inserts - a colour postcard featuring images of all band members and a lengthy message on the posting side; there is also a four page bad biog with pix, plus a reproduction of a Sounds (music paper) article from July 1, 1978, showing a photograph of the band on stage on the front and on the rear a lengthy review of the band's show that day. This is a terrific package for true fans of the band and those just discovering what they may have been missing for all these years!
