Description

The Crickets (Buddy Holly) - Oh Boy single sided 7" demo UK 1957 Vogue Coral.


This is an extremely rare copy of Oh Boy by The Crickets (Buddy Holly), demo, single-sided 7" 45 rpm single from 1957 on Vogue Coral 103179. The official release number (Q 72298) is stamped on the label.

The stamped matrices are   45-VC-103179 1C  and  45 RPM-BACK


The vinyl is in Very Good plus condition. There are some light hairlines  but it doesn't affect playback at all. It plays loud and clear with no skips or pops. There is a small number  205  written in ink on the label. There is a groove cut into the blank B-side that plays with no sound apart from a continuous hum. The tri-centre is firmly fixed.


It was common practice in the 50's and 60's to release demo's on discs with the flipsides having no labels. The labels also usually had a different colour to the regular release.


The brown, rough-paper sleeve has creasing and a split to the side.


This record only sold once previously on Ebay in Nov 2019 for 281 dollars


This record really does sound amazing!!
