Description
An original 1st press of 'M.I.J.' from Dec 1972 on the UK Purple label. Matrix 1/1/1/1. Stampers "3". Etching 'Porkie/Peckie etc'. Please note the labels are consistent with very 1st press and still show 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. This particular example is a contract pressing - hence the ridges on the label, the lack of brackets around 'Made In Japan', and the stamper numbers "3" without letters the opposite side. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. Also included are the original two generic white inners from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and have only seen the very light of use. Under close inspection there are only a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. One of the greatest live albums for audio quality and mastered by 'THE MAN' Mr. Peckham - what's not to like! This is a 'factory fresh super low-mileage copy'...basically this is as close to perfect as can be possibly found. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio has an absolutely unrivalled level of transparency. Interference is pretty much non-existent across the entirety of four sides. All we detected were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments and a brief tick right at the start of 'Lazy'. Even the quiet sections of 'Child In Time' plays clean as a whistle. FINAL UPGRADE par excellence.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) In unbelievable condition and has been practically archived down the years. The front is shiny looking close on 'new' - just a very light/faint dark straight line running down the right hand side at the opening. Note the original retail sticker from 1972 looking minty fresh - cool! Ditto the rear - borderline faultless. The interior is pretty much immaculate. Edge wear is super light for this title and the openings still sharp. The spine is impeccable. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. A specimen you will never better!! FINAL UPGRADE.
