Description

A 1st pressing of Burn on the UK Purple label from 1974. Matrix A1U/B1U. Etching "Porky/Trish/Mel etc". Please note some of the very earliest 1st presses went out with "Gramophone" in the label perimeter text, even fewer are to be found with this on both sides - making this pressing probably from within the 1st week of release. The vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with title text found on two spines. Also included is the original generic white company inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/NM) Every collectors dream...a 2 X gramophone archive copy..it has hardly been played. Under close inspection I could barely make out a single mark - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. This copy is so good it transports the listener into the studio at the time the record was cut...I have never heard Burn like this...Truly amazing levels of clarity. I'm tempted to call it faultless....because...it really is faultless. I cannot hear anything in the background at all - absolute silence..from second one to the end. Barely a crackle the whole way through... The distortion in the guitars is perfectly resolved. FINAL UPGRADE..no sweat!
Cover (Ex+) Achieving Ex+ on a vintage record is hard enough in its own right, but Ex+ on cover is a truly unusual event. The original owner has pretty much archived it for 45 years...Fantastic colour preservation and practically no surface wear at all. This is found both front and back without the usual signs of record impression...this really is very unusual. Edge wear is totally absent...all spines are impeccable with not even a hint of wear..I'm literally having re-check because I can't believe it myself....but there really is none! All corners are square and uncrushed and the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies flat. One word...Wow!
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing at the extremities. No splits or markings...
