**50th ANNIVERSARY**
An original UK 1st press on Purple - GENUINE very 1st. Matrix 1/1. "Gramophone" exhibiting on the labels - at release EMI were right in the middle of switching to EMI text..So, only the very earliest copies exhibit looking like this. Why are they worth opting for? Yes - they are true 1st and are near-master copies...yes yes...they are also quality EMI and pressed HEAVY. Etching 'Porky/Trish/Sue - etc.'.... The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original double spine cover. Also included is the original generic company inner. 100% genuine and 100% complete. If you want audio nirvana - worth a closer look.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition and has clearly only seen careful light use. Under close inspection there's a couple of slight marks per side...nothing remotely troublesome. One slight mark late on side 2 - inspected and tested...cannot hear anything entering the audio spectrum. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. It's pretty close on perfect. Intros and inbetweens are beautifully quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. This beast is fully crankable. Total clean feed. The audio underlying is absolutely superb. The early heavy pressed copies are far more resilient to useage down the years. This copy was built to last...and 50years later...IT IS TOTAL KICK ASS****
Cover (Vg+) Pretty decent - very difficult to find in immaculate condition. Nice clean front and back with only some light handling wear. Light edge wear in the odd spot.. The only slight detraction - spine is 80% intact with text still mostly legible with some wear. A couple of wear spots on spine have been sharpied in. Looks perfectly acceptable - not perfect though. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Relatively Unaged. No splits .
