Thank you for visiting my auction for what is almost certainly a unique Emidisc acetate of 'Your Heart Is Free Just Like The Wind' by Deena Webster, believed to be from 1968.
As is the case with most Emidisc acetates (and acetates in general) this record is very fragile and was never designed for repeated plays. I have played it through just once since I have owned it, and it played through fine on the first side (English Version), although on the French version side there is one very small area which looks as though it was subject to a 'cutting' problem when the disc was made, as there seems to be a single groove that looks like it somehow strayed wider than it should have, almost like the separation between two tracks on a standard vinyl record, and at one stage during this groove you can see down to the aluminium core of the acetate record. It is very tiny but does cause a very small jump in playback.
Other than that jump, the record played through perfectly with the expected occasional pops and crackles expected from an acetate of this age.
To my ears (and memory) the English version of the song sounded a little different to the version subsequently released as a single, whilst the B-Side has the 'Original French Version' which I believe is totally unique to this acetate.
I've uploaded a number of photos which clearly show the playing surface (including focused attention on that miniscule area of exposed aluminium that I mentioned earlier), so please ensure that you take time to study each of the photos.
As this is very likely to be a unique record, by a largely overlooked artist who never got the recognition she deserved, this is a unique opportunity to get your hands on a piece of history.
I will ensure that this record is despatched (as I always do) in professional packaging along with stiffeners to ensure that the item arrives with the winning bidder in the same condition that it leaves me.
